What are the conditions and rules in applying IDN Jawi, Chinese and Tamil?

Special Rules for IDN:

Jawi:
  • It must contain at least two Jawi characters, but not more than 63 characters after conversion to punycode.
  • The label may comprise the 40 Jawi characters, one extended Arabic digit two (?), the numeric 10 digits [0-9] and the character “-” (hyphen or dash) can be allow at the middle of Jawi character.
  • However, the character “-” (hyphen or dash) and the 10 digits [0-9] cannot be used as an initial or final character in a label.

 

Chinese:
  • It must contain at least two Chinese characters, but not more than 63 characters after conversion to punycode.
  • The label may comprise the 20 Chinese characters, 10 digit numbers [0-9] and the characters “-” (hyphen or dash). However, the character “-” (hyphen or dash) cannot be used as the initial character or the end of the label.

 

Tamil:
  • It must contain at least 2 characters Tamil, but not more than 63 characters after conversion to puny code.
  • The label may consist of 48 characters Tamil, 10-digit numbers [0-9] and the character “-” (hyphen or dash). However, the character “-” (hyphen or dash) cannot be used as the initial character or the end of the label.
