How and when do I need to change the registrant of a domain name?

You may need to change the registrant of a domain name in the following situations:

  • To correct errors in the registrant name
  • To update the registrant details
  • To transfer ownership of the domain name to another party

Only users with the administrative role can perform this change. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to SELFCARE.
  2. Go to Domains.
  3. Select the domain from the list (changes can only be made one domain at a time) and click Manage.
  4. Under the Contact Information tab, go to the Registrant section and click Edit.
  5. Update the registrant details.
  6. Click the Save button.
  7. Wait for approval (supporting documents must be submitted within 14 days to customercare@mynic.my).

Note: The administrative contact will receive the email notifications.
